  1. Transfer your remaining balance to the bank account before closing the account. Or transfer back the money to the sender. Failure to do this, your money will be stocked up on the account, unless you reach out to Venmo. 
  2. Make sure your PC is close by. Because, you can’t close your Venmo account with your smartphone (mobile device) or through the app. You can only delete the account using a computer.

How To Close Your Venmo Account 

You can’t just log in to your account and delete it straight away. No, it is not done that way. 

Before you can delete your Venmo account, there’s something you need to do,

  1. Make sure you don’t have any money left in the account. If there are any funds, make sure you transfer the money to your linked bank account. Or you can transfer to a friend or family member. Failure to do this, you’ll have to contact Venmo before you can claim the money.
